Taiwan's industrial production slowed in June
Taiwan's industrial production decelerated to 13.23% year-on-year in 2024/6. The previous month was revised downward, and the increase was 15.73%, which was the first high level in almost 3 years, due to a sharp slowdown in manufacturing production (13.5% compared to 16.28% in May).
Meanwhile, mining and quarrying production recovered (-1.22% versus 1.41%), and electricity and gas supply (5.13% versus 9.07%) and water supply (1.44% versus 1.73%) increased at a faster pace.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell by 3.91% in 2024/6 after rising 11.78% in the previous month.
