TDK develops new all-solid-state battery material with energy density approximately 100 times

TDK (6762.T) announced on the 17th that it has developed an all-solid-state battery material with an energy density about 100 times that of conventional products. Thus, miniaturization and long operation are possible.
What we have developed is a material for all-solid-state batteries with an energy density of 1000 Wh/L. Since thermal stability is higher than existing products, in addition to wearable devices such as wireless earphones, hearing aids, smart watches, etc., products that replace coin-type primary batteries that require replacement with rechargeable batteries in accordance with EU (European Union) battery regulations can be considered as applications.
TDK will proceed with the development of structural designs for battery cells and packages in the future, and will begin sample shipments of all-solid-state batteries using new materials from 2025, leading to mass production.
