Tesla Autopilot Director shares HW3 has similar performance as HW4 on FSD V12.5

Tesla Director of Autopilot Software Ashok Elluswamy recently provided some insights behind the release of Full Self-Driving (FSD) V12.5 to Hardware 3 vehicles. As per the Tesla executive, the company was able to achieve similar performance as Hardware 4 vehicles running FSD V12.5 using a smaller model for HW3.

Musk previously stated that the performance of Hardware 4 is 3-5 times that of Hardware 3, and the parameters of FSD12.5 are 5 times that of 12.4. Ashok said that the number of model parameters is only one of many aspects of performance improvement. My Take:

1) Fred Lambert from Electrek reported negatively baised (again) about the performance of FSD 12.5 on HW3. He implying Elon Musk was misleading the customer and taking his words out of context. He made these false accusations despite the Tesla Director of Autopilot Software Ashok announced that the performance on FSD 12.5 using HW3 and HW4 is similar.

2) Although Electrek's article written by Lambert is an opinion post, Tesla's haters (and someone) are taking it as a hard fact and used it to accuse Tesla of "lying to the customer". As retail investors, we should read information about a stock (or company) from various sources and COMPARE.

3) This is a good example that we should always ask for sources of information and read the content (DYODD) and not just the headline.
