Tesla Cybertruck Voluntary Recall. Ford recalls 668,000 F-150 pick-up trucks.

1) Tesla has issued a voluntary recall for 2024 Cybertruck vehicles, manufactured from November 13, 2023, to June 6, 2024, to replace the windshield wiper motor with a wiper motor that has a properly functioning gate driver component.
2) Ford Motor said on Tuesday (Jun 25) it is recalling 668,000 F-150 pickup trucks worldwide from the 2014 model year because vehicles can unexpectedly downshift into the first gear causing a loss of driver control or rear-wheel lockup.
My Take:
1) Here are the facts in case someone selectively reports only the negative. According to Teslarati, Tesla has two active recalls for the Cybertruck out this morning. Both issues impact over 11,000 units (only 2 percent of the total population expected to be impacted) and involve a windshield wiper issue and improperly adhered trunk bed trim.
The windshield that is causing the issue is manufactured by Valeo Sistemas Electricos in Mexico. In February, Tesla Service recovered 20 of the wiper motors for engineering to inspect. On June 12, Tesla made the decision to voluntarily recall affected vehicles.
The trunk bed trim was manufactured by Axiom Plastics. Tesla will remedy the issue with the supplier as it introduce a functional test using a lower current to ensure the integrity of the gate driver.
2) I could not help but to report Ford pickup recall as I think this is a more serious safety issue. Unfortunately someone selectively ignores this news. In fact there are 5 more carmakers reported recall today - Hyundai, Kia, VW, Chrysler and PACCAR (can Google search yourself). Why are these recalls (more serious and 1 million vehicles affected) not reported by someone is anyone's guess.
3) We should commend Tesla and the other carmakers to make voluntary recall because they put safety as their priority. It is detrimental to consumers if the carmakers have a non-transparent culture in reporting safety faults.
