Tesla Model Y China Best Selling NEV in H1 2024 with 207,817 Units
$Tesla(TSLA.US$ $BYD COMPANY(01211.HK$ $NIO Inc(NIO.US$ $XPeng(XPEV.US$ Tesla’s Model Y has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the best-selling new energy vehicle (NEV) in China for the first half of the year. The Model Y, which was the best-selling car globally last year, saw its sales in China rise from 203,900 units in the first half of 2023 to 207,817 units this year. In June alone, Tesla China sold a total of 71,007 vehicles, including 11,746 units for export, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
My Take: The above has shown that someone who said Tesla electric vehicles are boring and unpopular is not true. Just a few days ago, a report showed that Cybertruck has become the best selling electric pickup in the US. Tesla electric vehicle models have been the bench- mark of other EV makers.
