Tesla registers insurance business in China a step closer in launching FSD outside US
1) Tesla has registered an insurance brokerage in China, hinting the company could be looking to expand this portion of its business into foreign markets as it continues to grow in the United States.
2) According to XieJackie from x.com, the establishment date is July 30, 2024, with a registered capital of RMB 50 million. The legal representative and chairman is Zhu Xiaotong!
3) Tesla established Tesla Insurance Brokerage Co., Ltd. in August 2020, but its insurance brokerage business has not yet been approved. This approval will allow Tesla to provide insurance for its driverless taxis (or Robotaxi) in the future.
3) This approval may also indicate that FSD is about to be officially launched. In April this year, Tesla received a data security "green card", becoming the first foreign-invested automaker to pass relevant national standards. Musk said at the earnings conference that he is applying for FSD approval in China and Europe, and it is expected to be approved before the end of this year!
