An advanced driver assistance system “FSD (full self driving)” offered as an optional function by Tesla, a major American EV (electric vehicle) company. Its introduction into the Chinese market is close to being realized.
On the Tesla China corporation website, the display on the FSD purchase application screen changed from “please wait until release” to “release soon” on 4/29. Also, on the Chinese internet, rumors spread that Tesla (for owners of EVs manufactured by the company) was looking for applicants for a pre-trial FSD.
FSD is a drastic evolution of the driver assistance system “autopilot” that Tesla cars are equipped with. Since the beta version was released for some American owners in 2020/10, 11 major updates have been repeated until now. Tesla aims to eventually realize fully autonomous driving through further improvements to FSD.
