Tesla to recall 1.8 million units in US
The U.S. Department of Transportation's Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed in a statement Tuesday that Tesla will recall 1.84 million9,638 cars in the US.
“The bonnet latch assembly may not be able to detect an unlatched bonnet state after the bonnet has been opened. The unlatched hood opens completely, obstructing the driver's view, and there is a possibility that the risk of collision will increase,” NHTSA explains.
The target vehicles are part of the Model 3, Model S, and Model X models of the 2021-2024 model, and the Model Y series of the 2020-2024 model. In order to resolve this issue, car manufacturers have started OTA (Over-the-Air) software updates free of charge.
