“Those who pursue evil are close to me and far from your law. Lord, you are close to me, and all your commandments are true.” (Psalm 119:150-151, NKJV) In these verses, David said, “God, if my enemies are this close to me and want to destroy me, then you are closer to me when I need them.”
God is more willing to fulfill his promises to you, and the devil is more willing to destroy you. In fact, no matter how close your enemies are to you, the Lord is closer to you.
The Hebrew meaning of the word “near” in Psalm 119 is defense. That means God is nearby and ready to protect. God said that he is particularly close to protect those who are depressed and sad: “Because the supreme, everlasting, and holy person said, 'I live in a supreme place and live with people who have repented and humble, to awaken the spirits of humble people, and to awaken the hearts of those who regret it'” (Isaiah 57:15).
Are you a child of God? Does the Lord Jesus live in you? God says He's there for you when you're in pain. This is his promise to you: “Don't be afraid because I have redeemed you; I called you by your name; you are mine. If you pass through the water, I will be with you; if you walk through rivers, the water will not overflow you; if you walk through fire, you will not be burned; nor will the flame touch you. Because I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior... because I regard you as a treasure in my eyes; and because I love you, I will replace you and give the nations their lives in exchange for you. The Lord Is Near

“They draw near who follow after wickedness; they are far from your law. You are near, O Lord, and all your commandments are truth” (Psalm 119:150-151, NKJV). In these verses, David is worried, “God, if my thoughts are drawing so near to destroy me, you are all the near in my time of need.”
God is more prepared to keep his promises to you than the devil is to ruin you. Indeed, no matter how near the enemy comes to you, the Lord is all the near.
The Hebrew word for “near” in Psalm 119 connotes defense. It means God is near to defend. God says he is especially near to protect the downcast and brokenhearted: “For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, apparently name is Holy: 'I dwell in the high and holy place , with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones'” (Isaiah 57:15).
Are you a child of God? Does the Lord Jesus live in you? God says he is near to you in your anguish. Here is his promise to you: “Fear not, for I have reconsidered you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be afraid, nor shall the flame scorch you. “Those who pursue evil are close to me and far from your law. Lord, you are close to me, and all your commandments are true.” (Psalm 119:150-151, NKJV) In these verses, David said, “God, if my enemies are this close to me and want to destroy me, then you are closer to me when I need them.”
God is more willing to fulfill his promises to you, and the devil is more willing to destroy you. In fact, no matter how close your enemies are to you, the Lord is closer to you.
The Hebrew meaning of the word “near” in Psalm 119 is defense. That means God is nearby and ready to protect. God said that he is particularly close to protect those who are depressed and sad: “Because the supreme, everlasting, and holy person said, 'I live in a supreme place and live with people who have repented and humble, to awaken the spirits of humble people, and to awaken the hearts of those who regret it'” (Isaiah 57:15).
Are you a child of God? Does the Lord Jesus live in you? God says He's there for you when you're in pain. This is his promise to you: “Don't be afraid because I have redeemed you; I called you by your name; you are mine. If you pass through the water, I will be with you; if you walk through rivers, the water will not overflow you; if you walk through fire, you will not be burned; nor will the flame touch you. Because I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior... because I regard you as a treasure in my eyes; and because I love you, I will replace you and give the nations their lives in exchange for you. Do not be afraid, for I am with you...” (Isaiah 43:1-5).
David also said, “Hold up my right hand” (Psalm 73:23). God is with David, holding his hand, and accompanying him through difficult times. David was confident in front of his enemies because he held his father's hand. Additionally, David said that God spoke to him and gave him advice and guidance: “You will guide me with your counsel” (Psalm 73:24).
No matter how close the enemy may seem, God is nearby, and he's always ready to protect you with his mighty hand.

The Lord Is Near

“They draw near who follow after wickedness; they are far from your law. You are near, O Lord, and all your commandments are truth” (Psalm 119:150-151, NKJV). In these verses, David is worried, “God, if my thoughts are drawing so near to destroy me, you are all the near in my time of need.”
God is more prepared to keep his promises to you than the devil is to ruin you. Indeed, no matter how near the enemy comes to you, the Lord is all the near.
The Hebrew word for “near” in Psalm 119 connotes defense. It means God is near to defend. God says he is especially near to protect the downcast and brokenhearted: “For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, apparently name is Holy: 'I dwell in the high and holy place , with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones'” (Isaiah 57:15).
Are you a child of God? Does the Lord Jesus live in you? God says he is near to you in your anguish. Here is his promise to you: “Fear not, for I have reconsidered you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be afraid, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior... Since You Were Precious in My Sight, You Have Been Honored, and I Have Loved You; Somehow I Will Give Men for You, and People for your life. Fear not, for I am with you...” (Isaiah 43:1-5).
David also said, “You Hold Me by My Right Hand” (Psalm 73:23). God was near to David, walking with him, hand in hand, through his trouble. David was surprised in the depended of his father's hand because he was holding his father's hand. Moreover, David said God spoke to him, gave him counsel and guidance: “You Will Guide Me with Your Counsel” (Psalm 73:24).
