$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ [Share Link: Elon Musk won’t make any more...
as I have said before, battery EV is not the future, the future is nuclear powered cars, but before we get to that stage, the interim will be hydrogen powered cars.
the former CEO of Toyota knew very well the perils of battery EV, that's why he didn't go into pure battery EV, but instead Toyota's the first car manufacturer to come up with a petrol-battery hybrid car.
history and time has proven the astuteness of Mr Akio Toyoda.
Musk knows very well pure battery EV is not the way forward, but as a businessman, he relies on hype, smoke and mirrors, clever marketing and of course efficient engineering (you have to give that to Musk) to capture the EV market first.
Now that he has a captive crowd of followers, he has to recognise the limitations of pure battery EV (as any scientists and engineer and economist and geopolitical analyst, will know, Musk is too clever to not know, he's just playing dumb to put on a show for Wall Street investors) and come up with next stage reorganization to revitalise the fortunes of Tesla under attack by China EVs, which is a monster that Dr Musk aka Frankenstein, has created.
As I have said before, Tesla's fundamentals has not changed, it has not become better after aligning with Trump, in fact, the union is fragile, and can go bad any day.
A final note: Musk is older day by day, and his energy levels will not allow him to be as active as 10 years ago, he has to prioritise his efforts for his Mars dream, which, Space-X will be his major focus, and in coming years, if Tesla is still going down the pure battery EV path, there wouldn't be any significant breakthrough, expect Musk to step down and get someone to replace him at Tesla or appoint a vice-CEO for daily operations.

delavie : i wouldn't dare to be a passenger of a nuclear powered car
SKYWalkers OP delavie : u know US submarines and aircraft carriers are nuclear powered?
bullrider_21 : Toyota's swappable and portable hydrogen cartridge may be the future. No need for expensive refuelling stations.
interestingengi...
SKYWalkers OP bullrider_21 : yeah, I been tracking Toyota development for a while, a few weeks ago I saw an article that Australia having nation wide trial of hydrogen car, any insight from you on this?
bullrider_21 SKYWalkers OP : With current technology, the hydrogen car would lose out to battery electric vehicles because of higher costs and lower efficiency.
SKYWalkers OP bullrider_21 : yup, that's the current obstacle, but compared to the degradation and waste of lithium batteries, it's less resource intensive.
BigGuy45 : You better buy Toyota stock now before they go bankrupt
SKYWalkers OP BigGuy45 : why would Toyota go bankrupt?
SKYWalkers OP BigGuy45 : many ppl don't know nor understand the robustness of Japan's heavy industries' integration with military and civilian functions.
