  • 10baggerbamm : oh that's some funny shit there... except the truth is a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle catches fire at about 4 to 1 ratio over a battery powered Tesla so that's the truth and I know that hurts but nevertheless that is a funny pic

  • Mr Trecherous OP 10baggerbamm :

  • Investopedia196773 10baggerbamm : I think the general concern is the increased difficulty of putting EV fires out. If the battery is pierced it also ignites very fast and intense. New fire suppressants need to be created if EV’s are to take over.

  • 10baggerbamm Investopedia196773 : the market climbs a wall of worry people worry about things that are truly irrelevant and meaningless you're worried about putting out a fire you know what it's going to burn to a crisp on the side of the road just like a conventional car and you know why because much like police when you need one there's never around it's the same way with a fire truck you don't carry one in your back pocket. and can you imagine the people that used a buckboard and two horses to pull their loads to and from the general store to their farm when some crazy lunatic is driving a vehicle powered by an engine and a combustible gasoline that could explode oh my God the insanity the craziness the thought of that catching fire and burning it will never catch on no one will ever have a horseless carriage far too much risk

  • TWIMO (151403908) 10baggerbamm : I understand Tesla. It’s a fundamentally solid company. We really can’t say the same about DJT, can you?

  • Investopedia196773 10baggerbamm : I think your looking to far into it. I’m speaking for possible customer point of view. The fear many have is the vehicle can burst into flames and if so it will spread very rapidly. In that case they may fear being stuck in the vehicle with little time to escape. Obviously normal combustion engines can spark a fire due to various failures/collision scenarios. It is simply the fear of not having time to escape/avoid/contain the fire. I mention a better suppressant in order to get over that “hump” of fear. Another issue to take into account is the whole car is electronic, if the electronic systems fail the car shuts down instantly. Unlike, let’s say an engine failure scenario in a combustion vehicle; in that case you can sometimes still operate the vehicle somewhat. Think of it as a feeling of claustrophobia some potential customers are feeling towards ev’s. A few considerations & creations can fix that and that’s the route to go imo.

  • 10baggerbamm Investopedia196773 : battery fire is much slower than gasoline and by the way in the 1970s there was a company maybe a heard of it called Ford you know Henry Ford who supported Nazis but that's a different story they made a car called the pinto and by design these brilliant engineers place the gas tank so far behind the vehicle that when the bumper pushed in it would puncture the gas tank and cause an eruption and explosion there was no time to get out it was combustion virtually instantaneously. ford determined after they knew about this not to fix the problem because that's a great engineers residing it forward during that era they decided along with the legal team that would be better to pay the families of those who died then to fix the problem doing their cost benefit analysis relative to profits. so all I will tell you is if you think batteries are a bad thing throw your fucking cell phone away I'll never hear from you again, drop the mic

  • Investopedia196773 10baggerbamm : You are either very young or are the “swear you know it all type”. You are coming off argumentative when I’m simply telling you a big issue people fear with EV’s. If you listen maybe you will learn more in life. As for what you commented; none of that calms the concerns people have towards EV’s. Much more productive to physically solve a problem/concern, than attempt to convince others there’s  no problem at all. Also, just a quick comment on vehicle fires; they’re a concern regardless of fuel source. But the second a battery in a Ev is pierced & ignites a different type of fire is occurring. A type of fire that raises new concerns and requires research and innovation PERIOD.

  • 10baggerbamm Investopedia196773 : the last time I checked every internal combustion engine vehicle they have a battery under the hood of their car. btw I was licensed as a broker in 1988. I had my own broker dealer  in the mid-90s that ended in the .com crash.
I raised a shitload of money...tens of millions of dollars for startups, so I'm a rookie I know nothing and I hope to learn from people that pick up their information off of the television the internet TV shows you know real relevant first-hand credible sources.

  • Investopedia196773 : I would check which type of battery most cars have. It’s not lithium-ion like in EV’s. Lead acid is still the majority. The lithium has higher chances of catching fire, but that is a drawback of the increased performance. Regardless let’s not compare a 25-50lbs lithium-ion battery behind a firewall to a 1,000 pound battery directly underneath/near passengers. Also, not quite sure I asked your resume but nice to hear you made people rich. I genuinely hope you retained some of that, instead of ending up used and bitter.
