$Tesla (TSLA.US)$the cockroaches in naysayers are already coming out of the woodwork as a result of the potential ramp up for FSD autonomous approval at the federal level.
all of the naysayers what they are spewing is the rhetoric saying the federal government can't control the states with regard to their approval they're only able to control interstates not state and local level legislation and laws for approval.
to that I say close your eyes and imagine for a moment
Tesla 18 wheelers on every highway FSD no drivers autonomous. DHL did a test on their 18-wheeler EVS you can go back and read about it and obviously it very easy to make them autonomous and driverless. so you say how would this work it's only approved that a federal level real simple you have the equivalent of a big parking lot just off the highway before it gets on to local roads. at that point you would have a driver hop in and deliver to its final destination. so here's a whole new market that nobody is talking about granted this is down the road but this is a way to circumvent all of the naysayers talking about what good is it to have Federal approval when states are not approving Tesla autonomous driving. imagine the revenue that this would bring to the company 18 wheelers driving around the clock nobody's getting tired all electric and only using an actual person for the last couple of miles for final delivery to a Depot Center.

with robotaxis yeah taxi drivers would have problems but cities like New York probably wouldn't be approving anytime soon it's more of a threat to Uber

insurance. liability. these hurdles are bigger than many understand. here is an example. Vehicular manslaughter, DUI, fault.
if people are gonna be able to mow people down and blame FSD? or are people gonna be held on murder charges when FSD glitches and starts mow people down?

it's already been proven that FSD is more reliable than a human and besides look at the liability that exists on the driver side with DUIs with human error every year hundreds of thousands of people are in accidents tens of thousands die in car accidents because of errors that they made it doesn't exist when you have something that doesn't get tired that has 360 cameras all around that has billions of miles driven and every possible scenario programmed in and it has the ability to respond and anticipate issues and problems.

I really don't think you're ever going to see an autonomous car pick up the phone and start texting somebody the reliability of autonomous is going to be vastly superior to a human what's going to happen is you're going to have some fucking moron intentionally steer and drive into one and say I was hit I'm injured and then of course the cameras on the vehicle are going to show that they're a liar and that's when I hope the government prosecutes the scumbags that are going to try to orchestrate these scams

do you understand the rate of acceleration of these vehicles I don't think you do when you put a 17-year-old behind a car that goes 0 to 60 and two and a half seconds that can run a 10.80 and a Tesla model 3 dual motor do you understand how easy it is to get an accident and die no you don't I don't think you've ever drag race before or road race and that's the problem with electric vehicles or any all-wheel drive for that matter the acceleration will get you in a world of shit very quickly so that's the parents buying kids people don't have to drive very powerful vehicles they get in trouble with extremely quickly and I don't need a property and casualty license to understand this .
Sg Lion : Does the issue affect employment for Americans, such as taxi drivers?

versus
machine error.
complete unanswer to the issue, it's large. insurance is complex.
