Texas Governor Signs Letter of Intent for Economic Cooperation with Taiwan - Assumes the semiconductor field, etc.

Governor Abbott announced that Texas will open a representative office in Taiwan
“Opportunities to cooperate in industrial fields including semiconductors, energy, and EVs”
Governor Abbott of the US state of Texas, who is visiting Taiwan, met with Economic Department Director Guo Zhihui (Minister of Economy) on the 7th and signed a letter of intent on economic cooperation.
  Governor Abbott emphasized that there are opportunities for both sides to cooperate in important industrial fields including semiconductors, energy, and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing.
  “Whether in Texas or the United States, we understand that a strong Taiwan is important for the future of the world as a whole,” he said at the signing ceremony. It was also revealed that Texas will establish a representative office in Taiwan. This is the first time outside of Mexico that the state has established a new overseas base in this century.
