The ASX 200 made history today!

The ASX 200 broke records today, hitting its highest point in history. After opening at 7,959.3 points this morning, the index crossed the 8,000-point threshold for the first time ever. Climbing all the way up to 8,037.3 points – the ASX 200's new record high.

As it stands today, the ASX 200 is now up 5.27% year to date in 2024 so far. The index is also up 9.98% over the past 12 months.

A key contributor to this success is the recent performance of Australia's big 4 banks. With CBA, NAB, ANZ and Westpac all hitting new 52-week highs.
