The Baltic Dry Index falls to a six-week low

The Baltic Exchange's main maritime freight index, which tracks freight rates for ships carrying dry bulk cargo, fell 1.4 percent on Tuesday to a six-week low of 1,869.

Normally, the Cape Size Index, which transports 0.15 million tons of cargo such as iron ore and coal, fell 3.5% to 2,854, the lowest level in the past month or more.

The Panamax Index rose 0.9% to 1,728, a four-week high.

For small ships, the Super Max increased by 0.4% to 1,380.
