The impact of Israel's 10-month war on Gaza

Since Israel began its devastating military attack in October, it has destroyed vast areas of Gaza, destroyed more than 70% of buildings, crippled hospitals, and destroyed schools and universities.
According to aid groups, this coastal area has become “uninhabitable” due to lack of food and pharmaceuticals, and public infrastructure such as water and electricity has almost malfunctioned due to Israeli attacks.
The effects of Israel's 10-month war on Gaza are as follows. There are 2.4 million Palestinians living in Gaza, 90 percent of whom have been forcibly evacuated.
・Approximately 0.04 million Palestinians have been killed, mostly children and women, and it is the conflict that has caused the highest number of deaths since Israel ethnically cleansed Palestinians from their homeland and established the State of Israel in 1948.
• Over 70 percent of the buildings in Gaza have been destroyed. According to estimates by the United Nations Development Programme, it could take 15 years or more to rebuild homes in bombed Gaza and cost up to 40 billion dollars.
• More than 300 health workers have been killed by Israel, and only 9 of the 36 hospitals are partially functioning, making it difficult to deal with the more than 0.09 million people injured in the Israeli attack and patients with chronic illnesses. Human rights groups argue that targeting health centers and staff is a war crime.
・Earlier this week, the Gaza Ministry of Health declared that polio was endemic throughout the Palestinian Authority and blamed Israel's devastating military attack for the spread of the deadly virus.
• Nearly 90% of Gaza's 2.4 million residents have been forcibly evacuated, and the majority of the population is currently facing food insecurity as Israel destroyed agriculture, bombed the food warehouses of key UN aid agencies, and restricted the supply of external aid. According to a UN report, 96% of the population in Gaza is food insecure, and 1 in 5 Palestinians, or about 0.49 million people, face hunger.
• More than 0.62 million 5,000 children have not gone to school since the war began. More than 350 schools have been destroyed in the Israeli attack. According to Palestinian news agency Wafa, 12 higher education institutions in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed, and university education has been completely interrupted.
・According to the Gazan Government Media Agency, at least 158 journalists have been killed in the Israeli attack, making it one of the deadliest conflicts for journalists.
・Despite the UN Security Council's resolution calling for a cease-fire in Gaza in June, Israel has not stopped its deadly war against Gaza.
