The Most Dilemma Moment In My 2024 Investment Journey - Supermax
The year 2024 was eventful for Supermax Corporation Berhad $SUPERMX (7106.MY)$ and its investors, marked by both opportunities and challenges. The stock exhibited high volatility, ranging from a low of RM0.78 to a high of RM1.26, reflecting the glove's producers consolidation, glove's demand recovery and U.S. tariff imposed on Chinese glove manufacturers.
Key highlights included Supermax's strategic decision to build a new factory in the U.S., which aimed to reduce reliance on export markets and mitigate the impact of rising tariffs, especially those imposed on Chinese glove manufacturers. This move underscored the company’s focus on long-term growth and resilience in a competitive industry. However, investor confidence was shaken by a scandal involving the founder.
