The numbers don’t lie. Wilmar has lost its lustre and investor in turn has abandon the stock, placing their money into better yielding stocks. There are still no plans given by the management to address the slide and regain the investor’s confidence. The silence from its management is deafening.

this is only a MWG (Miracle Waiting Game) stock to me while collecting dividends every half yearly. Bought during the highs of Wilmar India IPO and stuck, sucked, for long long time. Heng got dividends (coffee money). Or else drink plain water holding it.

Dividends of 12 cents is decent at the current price of 3.04 imputing a return of about 4%. However, I can generate similar returns of 3.5% risk placing it with Mari Bank. So there is no incentive for investors to risk their capital with wilmar. Yea, for investors who bought during the Adani IPO tough luck. Still a long road ahead and wish for a miracle.

You can read my comments on your post. Insiders buying is not a strong indicator of the value of a stock. Top Gloves’ insiders were buying their shares at RM7, RM6, RM5 and all the way down. Does it mean the stock is reversing? If the only reason why the stock is being recommend as a buy is down to insider buying, it is not a strong reason and it is a very risky reason to be buying a stock.

Wilmar insider has been buying since last year when the price was close to SGD4 and the price is now close to SGD3. This buying has been on-going for almost a year and yet the price keeps on sliding. How could the factor of insider buying be a big indicator that the stock is undervalued? Such trend of insider buying is an indication that the market sentiment for the stock is weak and insiders are doing it just to provide some respite to the stock being sold off by investors.
We are mainly retail investors with limited resources and can’t afford to gamble buying stocks with a single weak predictive/qualitative indicators.
You can provide your buy call based on insider buying factor. However, the numbers don’t lie. The stock is very weak and the insider buying isn’t sufficient to counter the analysis done by Yahoo Finance.
