As a result, the Malaysian Securities Regulatory Commission (SC) sued You Guangchun and filed a civil lawsuit with the Kuala Lumpur High Court to force him to pay RM27.57 million, including three times the profits he allegedly earned by manipulating the stock market, plus a criminal police fine. At the same time, the Securities Regulatory Commission also urged Long Gao to sentence You Guangchun to ban listed company directors, participation in management, and stock trading.
