As of June 6, 2024, the borrow fee for Faraday Future (FFIE) shares on Interactive Brokers was 11%, which is considered fairly high but not extreme. A borrow fee, also known as a stock loan fee, is an annualized percentage charged by a brokerage firm to a client for borrowing shares. The fee is based on the number of days the short trade is open and can range from a small fraction of a percent to more than 100% of the value of the trade. Before a client can borrow stock, they must complete a Securities Lending Agreement (SLA).
