This could happen

We all know that Qcom wants to buy Intel. What if, as a step toward that direction, the new CEO for Intel comes from Qcom. This is crazy but this can possibly happen.

  • 10baggerbamm : Qualcomm said they were going to wait till the next administration so post trumps inauguration January 20th I think there's a very good chance that you are going to see Qualcomm wanting to acquire The foundry business of Intel they have no foundry business at all and to them having the ability to control manufacturing and also to have others come to them and they can manufacture four other companies is a huge win for Qualcomm.
if they were to buy all of Intel you're probably talking mid 30 to upper $30's. I don't believe Intel shareholders would want to sell for $30 it's really not a 50% premium when you think about it this stock was 25 when that shit bag CEO step down and then the stock tank which I scratch my head it makes no sense to me why it would have gone down because gelsinger was a boat anchor for Intel.
and if you look back when the initial potential talks of Qualcomm acquiring some of Intel The foundry business or maybe all look where that stock price was that's why I don't believe you're going to see a $30 offer if they were to buy all of Intel I think that would be left at I think it's going to have to be mid to upper 30s

  • MonkeyGee OP 10baggerbamm : Something is definitely going on.  I think $30 would be a no-go for Intel.  Because the original price that started the discussion was much higher.  putting that aside.  at 30 intel would be valued around 115B. That wouldn't build you one foundry in today's environment.   if the offer was 30,  if I were Intel CEO,  I would just spinoff the foundry division, which will get me get me way higher total evaluation of 30.  So, if QCOM is serious, I think they will have to be in the ballpark of $40.  That is assuming amazon or MU doesn't jump into the bid.  This is the only true USA foundry play.    That is why if there is something in the works now, I would say an insider from QCOM will become the CEO.

  • Mooge : Acquiring intel will just going to drag Qcom margin down.
