This is Why I Love Options
There was news about Huawei's new chips for their new smartphone. I assumed this news would be a negative catalyst for other chip makers. So naturally, I did a little research to find semi companies that have exposure to the chinese smart phone market.
I came across an article saying that Quolcom would be affected the most by this Huawei news.
I got short dated long puts for the end of the week in a few semi companies. As you can see, it paid off big time.
10 Bagger Over Night
If you were lucky enough to catch these puts before today, then you would be sitting on a nice bag. Jobs numbers are definitely adding to the downward pressure.
One of my investment portfolios jumped over 300% overnight. The only way you could make these kinds of gains that quick is with options.
You could put your money in meme stonks and hope you get lucky. But, if you know the options market well enough, then meme stocks present much more of a risk than options.

Other semi companies didn't drop as much.
I wonder why QCOM was the biggest loser in the semiconductor space? It could be for any reason. Nobody knows for sure. I'm just going to assume other investors were thinking the same thing that I was.
