Toyota announces a 14.3% increase in US car sales for the first half of the year
The penetration rate of electric vehicles reached 38.3% in the first half of the year, 39.8% in the second quarter, and 43.9% in June. The figure for the first quarter was 36.6%, so it's gradually rising.
$Toyota Motor (7203.JP)$ As of 2024, bz4 has actually sold more than 9,000 units, which is the same as the annual sales volume last year 2023.
The same goes for the Lexus RZ. The Lexus RZ has already surpassed last year's sales volume. Despite being the only EV in the Lexus lineup, it is selling more than the combined sales volume of the three EVs in the Genesis lineup, the GV60, GV70, and G80 electrified.
Lexus also recorded a record high sales for the first half of the year in a 35-year history. It may be possible to increase sales by overtaking Mercedes and BMW with the new controversial model.
