Traded out some ASTS

Traded out some ASTS
in order to trade some SPY weeklies for fun (I still hold a large position in shares and LEAPS calls.) The chaos and volatility drop after FOMC was too tempting. Profits will otherwise be diverted to newer speculative positions.

  • Gilley : wow I wish I put my money in that seems like it would never let me get something like this with thousands though as soon as I tend to trade I get crushed right away

  • BelleWeather OP Gilley : Aw, I understand. Loses are part of trading, though. ASTS was always intended to be a longterm hold in my portfolio. Initially I allocated 5% to shares, calls and LEAPS calls. It moved more quickly than I’d expected, so the position gained quite a lot, quickly. So often we lose with options because even if direction is correct, time isn’t on a buyer’s side, and volatility can be a killer. It is not too late to take a position in ASTS - it is now my largest holding. Though I have taken some profits this past spring, summer and now in fall, I am maintaining it. In fact, I am still adding shares, both as a normal DCA and with profits from options contracts. I strongly encourage anyone interested to conduct DD on the company; the future is very bright.
