A Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll revealed that the support of American voters for the tariff increase on Chinese products and others pledged by former President Trump, the Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential election, slightly exceeds the majority. It also indicated that Trump has an advantage over Democratic candidate Vice President Harris in economic policy.
According to a survey conducted on the 11th and 12th, 56% of voters who are likely to support a candidate who advocates a 10% tariff on all imports and a 60% tariff on imports from China, while 41% are unlikely to support.
Harris leads by 5 percentage points in overall approval ratings nationwide.
