TSMC to mass-produce 2-nanometer process by 2025, Apple already developing chips based on it

Apple's Mac and iPhone chips may be the most powerful chips yet, at TSMC 3nm. But a new report suggests that Apple is struggling to develop its next-generation chips at 3 nanometer, with an eye on the more advanced 2-nanometer technology. It's not confirmed, but it's still worth keeping an eye on, given Apple's history of supporting TSMC's advanced processes.

Apple has previously adopted TSMC's 5-nanometer technology, using the 3-nanometer process in its M3 Mac chip and the A17 Pro chip in the iPhone 15 Pro series. These chips have been used in the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops, 24-inch iMac desktops, and 13- and 15-inch MacBook Airs. the OLED iPad Pro is also expected to be powered by this chip, making it the fastest iPad to date.
TSMC plans to start production of 2nm chips in 2025 and has already provided samples to customers. Aside from Apple, other companies such as Nvidia and AMD have also shown keen interest in the technology. $Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM.US)$ $Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.US)$
