U.S. indices gain on the back of Trump’s Treasury secretary pick; Dow rises to new high

U.S. indices kicked off the week with a strong start, rallying on the back of Trump’s cabinet pick for Treasury secretary. The Dow Jones advanced over 400 points, building off the previous week’s momentum to close at another record high. The S&P 500 rose 0.3%, boosted by real estate and financial stocks, while Nvidia and Tesla weighed on the index. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq-100 inched higher as majority of tech stocks gained.
