U.S. public EV chargers set to surpass gas stations in 8 years benefits Tesla

$Tesla(TSLA.US)$ $BYD COMPANY(01211.HK)$ $NIO Inc(NIO.US)$ $XPeng(XPEV.US)$ The article reported that a motley array of networks switched on 704 new, public fast-charging stations, an increase of 9% in three months, according to a Bloomberg Green analysis of Department of Energy data. There are now nearly 9,000 public, fast-charging sites in the US.
At the current pace, public fast-charging sites will outnumber gas stations in the U.S. in about 8 years - charger momentum is only expected to accelerate. North American operators will spend a collective $6.1 billion on charging infrastructure this year, nearly double their 2023 investment, according to Bloomberg NEF estimates. That annual spend is expected to double again by 2030.

Saywer in x.com has shown a chart from US Department of Energy the quarterly increase for fast DC chargers (Tesla and non-Tesla) in the US.
My Take:

1) This will spell an increase in BEV (battery electric vehicle) and a decline in ICE (internal combustion engine) car and even PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) which is bulky and not efficient in consuming electricity and petrol.

2) It will benefit EV makers like Tesla which produces 100% BEV. Although BYD is the largest NEV (new energy vehicle) company, 50% of its electric vehicle sales are still PHEV. BYD lost to Tesla in BEV sales in Q2 2024. Read more here:

3) The above may also spell doom to battery swap (BS) station which NIO and its partnership car companies are promoting because it is more costly to build a BS station than a EV charger.
