U.S. stock markets extend Monday’s decline; Dow slips for fourth consecutive day

The U.S. stock market pulled back on Tuesday, extending its decline from Monday. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 fell 0.3% each as losses in real estate and tech stocks weighed on the indices to close lower for a second consecutive day. The losses were offset by gains in Google’s parent company Alphabet, which advanced over 5% on the back of the unveiling of its new quantum chip, Willow. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones lost over 150 points to close lower for a fourth consecutive day.
