UK reports explosion near ship in Red Sea

The UK Maritime and Trade Office (UKMTO) announced Wednesday that a ship passing through the Bab El Mandeb Strait between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden reported an explosion nearby.

The accident occurred 40 nautical miles south of Al Mukha in Yemen, but there were no injuries to the crew. Similarly, the ship is heading to the next port of call.

“Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation. Ships are advised to navigate carefully and report any suspicious movements to the UKMTO.
