$Ulta Beauty (ULTA.US)$ it's amazing isn't it, roaring Kitty is accused of stock manipulation because he increases a stake in GameStop and the stock goes higher.
when Warren Buffett makes an announcement that he's increasing or decreasing holdings the stocks move significantly Apple fell and now ultra pops. what do you call that?

  • Moo mom : Biggg Money, literally the same thing tho just a difference in class

  • 102668107 : because the rich cannot lose money

  • Sailang Kitty 102668107 : Hypocrites

  • Ken Griffin Charity : Yes, because he’s aware of the mythos that formed around him in the 3 years of his absence, and he knew a return to Twitter with pseudo-prophetic memes would spark a buying frenzy. He also loaded up on short dated calls just before he returned to Twitter; a prime example of a P&D. And guess what, he did in fact dump large blocks of those calls. Ryan Cohen did the exact same thing with BBBY and got faced with lawsuits as well.

Warren Buffett and Berkshire on the other hand have to disclose selling/buying large stakes because that’s SEC regulation. They would only be accused of market manipulation if they took counter positions to their announcements. A good example is Andrew Left who is charged with securities fraud for doing what I just described. There is no conspiracy here.

  • 10baggerbamm OP Ken Griffin Charity : you're incorrect buffett's buying stock then he makes an announcement of what he bought he doesn't need to file with the SEC. if he crosses 100 million in a company he needs to file aside from that over  5% is a 13g or f. so those are the parameters and what he bought yesterday he didn't meet any of them but yet they're spiking on the news that he bought stock

36 yrs in the trenches, raised 100mil for start ups, syndicate ipo's, yrs on trading desk mkt maker. R/Everythingstocks
