US also needs tax increases that should not be cut in interest rates until the latter half of '24 = IMF

July 19, 2024 1:08 AM GMT+9 (some excerpts)
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) stated on the 18th that the US Federal Reserve (FRB) should not cut interest rates until “the second half of 2024,” and the US government expressed the view that tax increases are necessary to suppress the increase in federal debt.
In a staff report compiled after the review (section 4 discussion) on the US economic policy was completed, it was pointed out that “considering the remarkable upward risk of inflation that was clearly highlighted in the data at the beginning of the year, it would be wise to lower policy interest rates only after more clear evidence that inflation has continuously returned to the 2% target of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is shown in the data.” The interest rate cut period was clearly stated as “the latter half of 24,” but no specific month was mentioned.
