US announces $0.2 billion security aid to Ukraine

The US Department of Defense announced new security support for Ukraine on Monday. It consists of packages worth up to 0.2 billion dollars and provides essential resources such as air defense and interceptor missiles, artillery shells, and anti-tank weapons.

Additionally, a $1.5 billion package based on the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) is set up to enhance Ukraine's air defense and maintain previously provided equipment. This support includes NASAMS ammunition, RIM-7 missiles, HIMARS ammunition, and advanced anti-armor systems such as Javelins and AT-4.

This is the 20th USAI package and the 62nd tranche of equipment sent to Ukraine since August 2021. “The United States will work with approximately 50 allies and partners to ensure that Ukraine's brave defenders receive the critical capabilities needed to combat Russian aggression,” the document indicates.
