US Considers Stricter Measures on Japan and Netherlands to Restrict Chip Trade with China

Chinese Foreign Ministry: Hopes relevant countries firmly resist coercion.

According to Global Times, on the 17th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian held a regular press conference. A Bloomberg reporter asked if the US is considering stricter measures to pressure companies in Japan and the Netherlands to restrict chip trade with China.
Lin Jian responded that China has repeatedly stated its firm stance against the US’s malicious suppression of China's semiconductor industry. The US politicizes, securitizes, and weaponizes economic and technological issues, constantly escalating chip export controls to China and coercing other countries, severely undermining international trade rules and harming global supply chain stability. China firmly opposes this and hopes relevant countries will clearly distinguish right from wrong, firmly resist coercion, and jointly maintain a fair and open international economic and trade order, truly safeguarding their long-term interests.
