What is a Chinese connected vehicle?
Although the official didn't specify but we can imply 3 types of banned vehicles from the article:
1) Chinese internet-connected vehicles and smart vehicle technology that is designed, developed, manufactured, or supplied from China.
2) Chinese-made vehicles imports from Mexico.
3) Chinese companies collecting and handling sensitive data while testing autonomous vehicles in US
My Take: There may be very few Chinese-made vehicles in the US but there is concern about US vehicles made using Chinese software especially those that can store and transfer data back to China for example Chinese autonomous vehicles testing in US. Sound familiar - the same restriction faced by Tesla EV made in China.
