US Election Portfolio Design: How to diversify my ETF portfolio?
Please help me design a U.S. election portfolio. Normally, I avoid timing the market, but I'm considering a 30k USD investment and would like to begin with a temporary portfolio until post-election volatility decreases.
Background & Goals:
I am 39 years old and based in Vancouver, generating an annual income of approximately 120k CAD, which I use for living expenses and reinvestment saving. My retirement savings are already secured and set aside. With this 30k investment, I aim for a 20%-40% return. I want to explore various investment vehicles during this period to learn about diversifying my portfolio and achieving the desired results.
My current plan is:
20% Bonds
10% Small Cap
10% Gold
30% Index
10% Bitcoin
20% Semiconductor
I think I will hold them for at least one year and see how the new president policies go.
What do you guys think? Am I too aggressive? I'd love to hear your smarts Many thx!

103210545 : Everyone portfolio are tailored according to each person risk appetite, are long are u planning to hold on to each of the stocks, etc, 1 mth, 3 mths, 1 year, 2 years and so on. Once u have the answer to all this, you are set to go!
Brooklynnn OP 103210545 : Many thanks for your advice! I just edited my post. I want to hold them for at least one year and see how the new president policies go. What do you think if this is my plan?
10baggerbamm : I posted about this since the beginning of the year nothing has changed. if Trump wins you want to back the truck up and buy DRIP.
if the other side wins you want to buy GUSH
TRUMP MADE IT VERY CLEAR DRILL BABY DRILL OIL WILL BE MID TO LOW 40S PER BARREL WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR THAT ETF WILL BE OVER 20 BUCKS
the other side made it very clear they're going to go back to the green energy scam their existential threat we must pass the Bill all this bullshit band called band fracking no new power plants and oil will go up to 90 to $95 a barrel very easily and probably go over $100 a barrel because of the wars they are very good at getting the world involved in and the other ETF gush, it's going to go up 150 to 200% in the first year
01001010 : Leveraged ETFs are not optimized for long term holding.
70114312 10baggerbamm :
.
Inner Yo : Having held both, I would advise to choose your risk between TMF and TLT. TLT barely moves and if you believe in TMF, then just go with that. But wait.
I would also hedge QQQ with smaller swings in SQQQ through trends.
I have seen others hold NVDL, but NVDD is a close call.
Overall, looks good.
Brooklynnn OP 10baggerbamm : Nice ideas! It seems that you are getting the essence. DRIP is in my watch list. Let me look into it And Trump is winning it seems
Brooklynnn OP 01001010 : True. Which one do you suggest I should replace instead?
Brooklynnn OP Inner Yo : Gotcha. Apart from TMF, do you have other suggestion if I want to do bond ETF?
Coach Donnie : You see what $Bitcoin (BTC.CC)$ $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ $Palantir (PLTR.US)$ did this year alone
