The U.S. PCE core price index rose by 2.6% year-on-year in July, slightly lower than the expected 2.7% increase.


In July, the U.S. Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) Core Price Index rose by 0.2% compared to the previous month. Market expectations were a 0.2% increase, in line with the previous month's 0.2% increase. On a year-on-year basis, it showed a 2.6% increase, slightly lower than the expected 2.7% increase.
The PCE Composite Price Index rose by 0.2% compared to the previous month, meeting market expectations of a 0.2% increase. This was higher than the 0.1% increase in the previous month. Year-on-year comparisons showed a 2.5% increase, in line with the expected 2.5% increase.
Personal consumption expenditure increased by 0.5% compared to the previous month. Market estimates showed a 0.5% increase, while the previous month had a 0.3% increase. Personal income increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month, with estimates at 0.2% increase. The previous month saw a 0.2% increase.
