US stocks
The US released the producer price index on Thursday night, showing that inflationary pressure was still strong. The three major indices went black, and the Dow Jones index fell 137 points.
The Dow rose 116 points to a high of 39,160 points, then turned down a maximum of 338 points to a low of 38,704 points; the index fell 0.81% at one point, and the NASDAQ fell at most by 0.85%.
At the close of the US market, the Dow fell 137 points, or 0.35%, to 38,905 points; the index fell 0.29% to 5,150 points; the NASDAQ fell 0.3% to 16,128 points; and the Golden Dragon Index, which reflects the performance of Chinese concept stocks, fell 2.75%.
