UWC Drops to 52 Weeks Low, after 10 Days of Continuous Fall

Short selling in UWC Bhd has been suspended again after its share price dropped more than 15 per cent.  As of 10.43am, the stock's share price slipped 14.22 per cent or 29 sen, to RM1.75 from Wednesday's closing price of RM2.04. Brief financial recalls.
In the past quarter reports, the last double digits PAT was recorded in the 1st QR of 2023, with a PAT of RM19.1million. The following QRs did not exceed RM5 million of PAT, with the lowest PAT recorded in the 3rd QR of 2023, only RM1.9 million.

Brief shareholdings recall.
As of 4 Sep 2024, ABRDN has emerged as a substantial shareholder of UWC, with 55.137 million of shares acquired. Besides, EPF is also a substantial shareholder of UWC, with an amount of 8.327% of shares, or approximately 91.75 million shares.

Technical chart.
From 22 Aug 2024, UWC has started dropping for 11 days (including today) from RM2.79 to the lowest, RM1.67 on 5 Sep 2024 (today), which translates to approximately 40.14% loss. Based on the RSI, it is oversold. Referring to the Moving Average 200, it is a downtrend.

Interestingly, UWC was one of the popularly traded semiconductors-related stocks a few years back, which recorded its highest at RM7.35 on 16 Feb 2021 (counting the stock split/bonus issue).
