Very Good News for ASML, Netherlands but also Japan & South Korea [Tweakers, translate from dutch]

$ASML Holding(ASML.US)$ The United States will grant some allies an exemption from new, stricter restrictions on chip exports to China. Reuters reports this. This also includes the Netherlands. ASML will therefore not be subject to the stricter law, which will be announced next month.
That Japan, the Netherlands and South Korea, among others, will be exempt from the new export rules. All three of these countries have an important position in the chip sector. The impact of these new restrictions will therefore be "relatively limited", the sources told the news agency. The law is due to be published in "August".
The exemptions mean, among other things, that Veldhoven chip machine maker ASML is NOT AFFECTED, in addition to other manufacturers such as Tokyo Electron. The rules will affect companies from several other countries. This would include countries such as Israel, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. The US Commerce Department, which is responsible for export policy, did not respond to questions.

  • Money Thrill OP : Price is up now,  between 865 € (10 € up) and 855 €
Barclays upgrade the stock and the new price target of $1,243? 1 day ago [undefined][undefined][undefined]

  • BagHolder23 : ASML already has restrictions on the EUV lithography technology needed to make the most advanced 5 and 3 nm chip sets.

Therefore the new restrictions aren't going to cover these.

  • Money Thrill OP : Asml is not affected by stronger restrictions and i suppose that old restrictions stay the same and that is good. However  country, VS,  who put restrictions on a company from another country,  Netherlands,  is Not Done in my opinion? We are not in war ? Or perhaps Economic War ?
