Market uncertainty; volatility expected with VIX/VVIX and Seasonality...

$VVIX Index (.VVIX.US)$ $CBOE Volatility S&P 500 Index (.VIX.US)$For the past 2 weeks, the market has entered into correction mode, plus Jobs and Manufacturing data have brought a sign of panic. The VVIX, which is the measure of the volatility of the VIX, has risen drastically in the last 2 market days. This suggests that the stock market expects volatility to continue to oscillate over the next few weeks, which coincides with seasonality, can drive the market downer... Proceed with caution!

  • Ultratech : vix goes down quicker then it goes up. idk if you've ever messed with vix tickers before but I do not recommend it. better off holding exposure to sp500.  it doesn't matter where spy is or how low it goes vix does not inverse to it but more as if it reacts to it. it's kind of hard to explain but basically if there's a sudden rally next week vix will drop like a motorscooter and not go back up again. it wouldn't continue going up like sqqq would in a downtrend but there never is a straight drop unless a blackswan/crash but the market may trade lower forming smaller little mountains at the peaks of these mountains vix will fall further. we have over a month before September/rate decisions I'm pretty sure will see a rally before then especially since July sucked near the end. short term so far stocks have shrugged off regional conflicts

  • Kevin Matte OP : I don't hold any ETF that represents volatility, but there is UVXY and also VXX which can be interesting, they go in the opposite direction of the market, which performs when volatility rises.

  • Ultratech Kevin Matte OP : I like to look at $ProShares Short VIX Short-Term Futures ETF (SVXY.US)$  it shows the inverse to vix futures plus vix futures under 1 ticker. but keep a watchlist of a bunch of different futures too.  Just be careful in long term it will go down
