Weekly Buzz
This week was the first full trading week after the presidential election, and the market continued to respond positively to President-Elect Donald Trump and watched as the GOP won a majority in the Congressional House and Senate.
Stocks, especially Trump-aligned stocks like DJT and equities like Bitcoin, responded with record highs and bull runs. Trump and his incoming administration are seen as positive for crypto and future U.S. equity prices based on promises of deregulation and tax breaks.
The run slowed by midweek after Bitcoin hit a new record high of more than $93,000/coin. After President Biden was elected in 2020, the crypto similarly went on a bull run, climbing 98% until the end of the year. The run may still not be over if history repeats itself.
In macroeconomics, all eyes were on inflation measures and Fedspeak, culminating in CPI numbers and Fed chair Powell's remarks Thursday. Powell said the FOMC was in no rush to cut rates at every meeting, and commentators like CNBC's Jim Cramer said it is important to remember the Fed is in a cutting cycle, even if the committee does not cut rates at the year's final meeting in December.
By the end of the week, the indexes finished lower after the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Dow Jones Industrial Average hit all-time highs Monday.
Next week is Nvidia earnings, due after the market closes on Wednesday night. Watch it live on moomoo!
Anyway, let's dive into the buzzing stocks this week:
1. $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
$Tesla (TSLA.US)$, $Rivian Automotive (RIVN.US)$ and $Lucid Group (LCID.US)$ shares fell Thursday after Reuters reported that US President-elect Donald Trump's transition team plans to end the $7,500 consumer tax credit for purchases of electric vehicles. The stock has flown after Cheif Elon Musk personally campaigned for Trump.
Citing unnamed sources, Reuters said representatives told the Trump team they favored ending the subsidy.
@JC1616 Please don’t rely on articles that attempt to boost Tesla’s share price. Is there a direct connection between removing subsidies and Tesla's market share in the U.S.?
2. $Bitcoin (BTC.CC)$ Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bitcoin broke through all-time highs Wednesday before falling back to below $90k. Friday it broke the level again.
@aguyisok: 100k party?
3. $Trump Media & Technology (DJT.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
DJT has seen its fare share of ups and downs and has taken off since Trump won the White House. This past week, the stock fell as a post-election boom started to slow. But, the inauguration is still on the horizon.
@Ultratech: I can feel the dump
4. $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Emily Bary from Barron's wrote that Nvidia earnings are on the horizon next week, and forward-looking guidance is going to matter.
The $PHLX Semiconductor Index (.SOX.US)$ has gained about 2% since the election, while the $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ climbed roughly 5% gain in that time. Analysts' estimates range from $36 billion to $39 billion for Nvidia's January-quarter outlook, and as we have seen this earnings season, good earnings mean nothing without a similar strong outlook.
@moopuppyhorse : Trump benefit no more???
5. $Super Micro Computer (SMCI.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
Thursday $Super Micro Computer (SMCI.US)$ attracted heavier options volume as the stock price slumped to the lowest since May 2023 after the server solutions developer said it could not file its financial report for the quarter ending Sept. 30. That compounded concerns that the company could be delisted. The stock fell 11% Thursday.
@Money Thrill : wow, Green in a Red market
6. $Palantir (PLTR.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
Shares of $Palantir (PLTR.US)$ rose 11% Friday after the company said that it will transfer its stock to the Nasdaq Global Select Market. The software giant said that it expects to make the switch from the New York Stock Exchange on Nov. 26, keeping the same ticker symbol PLTR.
@103966719: $Palantir fundamental and technical analysis do not matter. hard case for bears.
7. $Coinbase (COIN.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
Coinbase followed bitcoin higher throughout the week. Trump will likely reseat the SEC chair with a more industry-friendly pick.
@Tnkr : I sense a massive BTC candle on weekend.
8. $MARA Holdings (MARA.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
Cryptocurrency firms flew higher this week, following the record price beats of Bitcoin. The coin jumped and $MARA Holdings (MARA.US)$ followed, up 37% at one point. Tuesday, $MARA Holdings (MARA.US)$ fell 6% after posting its Q3 earnings that came in at a loss 'below' estimates- the firm lost more than analysts had expected them too. The bitcoin mining firm said that, for the three months ending September 30, it lost 42C/share, a greater loss than nine analysts tracked by Yahoo Finance had predicted, with an average estimate of 25C. The firm pulled in $131M in revenue, below the $151M estimated by the same analysts, and pulled out with a total $172.22M loss for the quarter.
@72602690: wth Mara! Look at other Bitcoin stocks!
9. $SoFi Technologies (SOFI.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
SoFi climbed throughout the week after Trump won the election, the firm deals in student loans, and Trump has pledged to change the Department of Education and halt student loan forgiveness.
@105132773: to the sky
10. $Dogecoin (DOGE.CC)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐
Dogecoin flew after the election. A favorite meme coin for Musk, he has taken to naming his new Department of Government Efficiency after the coin. To solve efficiency, Trump has appointed Musk and presidential GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to a new government commision. It is not clear what form this organization will take, but if it is an agency, it will add to the more than 2,000 strong list of government agencies.

Aaryan7 : Hello, there! I need good advice about $Eli Lilly and Co (LLY.US)$ please, I am so confused now I didn’t expect this much deep good suggestions will appreciated ! Thank you !
HuatLady : With the current economy, I am leaning towards defensive stocks for the rest of the year as part of my long-term investing approach.
These stocks, often in sectors like utilities, consumers stables and heslthcare tend to provide stable and consistent dividends even when the market is shaky. Additionally, they are less demanding to keep an eye on, which suits my preference for a more relaxed "style". I am watching $Procter & Gamble (PG.US)$ , $Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.US)$ and of course my all time favourite $Coca-Cola (KO.US)$ .

102362254 : Healthcare stocks have had an up-and-down year, but there are still some interesting opportunities as we head into the year-end. New treatments, like weight-loss drugs, have driven big gains for some companies, while others have hit roadblocks. Right now, I'm watching biotech companies and managed-care providers that could benefit from long-term trends and upcoming product launches
