Happy Friday, mooers! Welcome back to Weekly Buzz, where we review the news, performance, and community sentiment of the top ten buzzing stocks on moomoo based on search and message volumes! Major stock indexes pulled back Friday, but the Nasdaq still climbed to a Fifth closing high.
For the week, the $S&P 500 Index(.SPX.US)$ advanced 1.58%, while the $Dow Jones Industrial Average(.DJI.US)$ fell 0.54%. The tech-heavy $Nasdaq Composite Index(.IXIC.US)$ climbed 3.24%. The Nasdaq and S&P hit four closing highs by Thursday, and all time trading highs Thursday.

In tech, there was a 'biggest boy' competition between Nvidia, Microsoft, and Apple this week, each grappling for the position of a most valuable company rated by market cap.
Friday, the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index declined to a seven-month low of 65.6 in June, from 69.1 in May, data released Friday morning showed. That's less than the 72 expected by Wall Street, according to Benzinga. Long-run inflation expectations inched up to 3.1% this month, from 3% in May, staying well above the 2.2%-2.6% range seen in the two years before the global pandemic hit, data showed.
That followed the producer price index data released Thursday, which came in lower than expected.
Wednesday was the busiest day of the week when the Federal Open Market Committee decided to keep the interest rates unchanged while policymakers issued projections of just one rate cut for this year, less than the three they forecasted in March.

Thursday, Kieth Gill posted on his Reddit account "DeepF-kingValue," showing he sold his 120,000 call options and bought another 4,001,000 GameStop shares. He now owns 9,001,000 shares, the same amount owned by CEO Ryan Cohen before the 2020 GameStop short squeeze. Cohen now owns about 36 million shares according to SEC filings.

2. $NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$ Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The $3 trillion market- value club now has three members: $Microsoft(MSFT.US)$, $NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$, and $Apple(AAPL.US)$. Their differing artificial-intelligence strategies which will likely determine who gets to the next trillion-dollar milestone first. Nvidia was ahead of Apple last week, before its Monday stock split, and Apples AI tech showcase.

"We believe over the next year, the race to $4 trillion in market cap in tech will be front and center between Nvidia, Apple, and Microsoft," wrote Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives in a research note.

3. $Apple(AAPL.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Apple hit the mark for the most valuable company in the world Wednesday, overtaking Microsoft at the top with a market cap of $3.33T. Just last week, $NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$ overtook $Apple(AAPL.US)$ for the position of #2 in excitement for the stock's 10-1 split Monday. Apple made its own news Monday, when the firm introduced new AI software in a showcase, promising GTP 4 for Siri and Mac products this summer.

Apple also showed off its language model tech, which would work on devices or on the cloud through Apple chips, as opposed to the Nvidia processors the rest of the world uses, leading to a historic high stock price and two day climb.

4. $Tesla(TSLA.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tesla Inc. investors voted for CEO Elon Musk’s $56B compensation package and moving the company’s state of incorporation to Texas at its annual meeting Thursday in Austin. Tesla General Counsel Brandon Ehrhart announced the results before welcoming Musk to the stage. As the crowd chanted for him, Musk said, “Hot damn, I love you guys,” adding that the electric carmaker has the “most awesome shareholder base.”

6. $AMC Entertainment(AMC.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
A caller recently asked Jim Cramer about AMC Entertainment Holdings, and he told them:
"I want you to sell, take your capital out."
Cramer said that the balance sheet of AMC Entertainment Holdings "is not good" and the box office numbers are "horrendous." AMC shares flew to the moon following the return of "Roaring Kitty" but the stock is down 21% for the year. During its earnings call, the firm warned of a weaker Q2, posting a net loss of about 61C a share in May, and said strikes had slashed the number of film releases. Attendance in theaters fell 5.8% to 30.5 million in the first quarter.

7. $Bitcoin(BTC.CC)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
Bitcoin spiked to nearly $70,000 Wednesday following the release of cooler-than-expected consumer price data for May. However, the uptrend didn't last long as Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell remarked that policymakers
"want to gain further confidence" on inflation before considering interest rate cuts cooled market enthusiasm.

8. $Crown Electrokinetics(CRKN.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
Crown Electrokinetics Corp. shares are trading higher by 6.9% to $0.09 during Wednesday's session after the company announced that its request for continued listing on the Nasdaq was approved. A hearing regarding the matter took place on May 7. Friday, the firm's price dropped a dramatic 21%.

9. $NIO Inc(NIO.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
Qin Lihong, co-founder and president of NIO Inc has reportedly urged additional companies, including Huawei Technologies to join the battery swap alliance it spearheads, aiming to enhance electric vehicle (EV) battery longevity concerns.
During his speech at the China Auto Bluebook Forum 2024, Lihong emphasized the pressing need to address battery life challenges, likening it to the proactive preparation required for an aging population, as reported by CnEVPost.

10. $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD.US)$ - Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐
AMD stock has climbed just 0.8% since its earnings report April, despite the AI and semiconductor company hype train. The firm showed reported revenues of $5.47 billion, up 2.2% year on year, in line with analysts' expectations. It was a mixed quarter for the company, with a decent beat of analysts' EPS estimates but an increase in its inventory levels.

"We delivered strong first quarter results with our Data Center and Client segments each growing more than 80% year-over-year driven by the ramp of MI300 AI accelerator shipments and the adoption of our Ryzen and EPYC processors," said AMD Chair and CEO Dr. Lisa Su.
