I often find large macro/big-picture trends interesting but irrelevant to company-specific investing.
Yes, interest rates DO impact stock prices, but it tells me very little about the business.
What the CEO do, how the company's products are priced, the valuation and future growth prospects tell me a lot more.
However, I've noticed a trend that is repeating and crucial for investors.
Whatever the West invents, the East will end up perfecting.
Examples:
Trains
- Invented in England. Best trains in China and Japan.
Cars(mass production)
- ....
