What happened in the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge crossing attack

Yesterday, at a border crossing connecting the West Bank and the Jordan River under Israeli control, a truck driver opened fire, killing 3 Israeli security guards and then shot to death.

The checkpoint is officially closed at the moment, but local colleagues report that the Israeli authorities have confirmed that it will resume at 10:00 a.m. (7:00 a.m. GMT) for passengers only.

・According to the Israeli military, the culprit came from Jordan, and the shooting was carried out in the cargo area at the intersection.

The Jordanian Ministry of the Interior announced that a Jordanian driver opened fire on Sunday.

・According to an Israeli military statement, the driver “got out of the truck and opened fire on Israeli security forces operating on the bridge.”

・The Hamas side called this “confirmation of the Arab people's rejection of Israel's occupation of Palestine and Jordan and its crimes and ambitions.”
