What's one luxury you had to cut back on due to the high cost of living?
I gave up my golf club membership.
As a recent graduate entering the workforce, my pre-tax salary of $95,000 still requires me to cut back due to the high cost of living.
Considering I have an AUD47,000 HECS-HELP loan and aspire to purchase a home in Melbourne, I now have to look for other ways to relax, such as hiking or joining free sports leagues.
Any recommendation on things I can do or buy for $50 or less that will improve my life?? $CommBank (CBA.AU)$ $BHP Group Ltd (BHP.AU)$

JC7577 : 2 week trial membership for something near you. On my list to do are 2 weeks of intro boxing classes, 2 weeks of aerial yoga classes, and a 2 week climbing gym membership. All about $50. Discover some new hobbies!
EvanderAU : I spent an outrageous $10 on some “Byron bay bath salts” from colesworth not realising you use the entire pack for one bath.
It was pretty luxurious. Go ahead, you’re worth it
Lysander : Buy indoor tubestock plants, indoor potting mix, and a couple of second hand pots. In a couple of months, you will be a plant dad/mom.
juujuuu : well... i rode bike to the office (1.5h per day)and sold my car cuz my partner lost his job last month. He had me to pay the house rent for 3 months cuz if the time delay he will just become my ex-partner
8mg6u3VG6z juujuuu : lollllllllll
8mg6u3VG6z : i guess it would be great to learn that the real treasure is always free.
Like the sunset, and the sound of wave in a very normal evening. U got enough money, yeah u got the golf club. With your expensive golf coach and the tips for the caddie. When you are in a hard time due with the financial, it might be a exclusive choice to find some precious things around you need no money or others.
It sounds like soul soother but you will know it's right.
mrbrotherlove : I'm just Tryna see my girl again...plane tickets too expensive
DavePhoenix : I cut back on alot of things. But I'm lucky to live in the CBD with my apartment having gym and pool. But free things such as ACMI, State library and NGV. Plus check out what's on Melbourne for more free stuff.
Edit: Plus working as a chef, I'm able to get free food which gives me a little luxury like rib-eye steaks
151755852 : Retirement investment
CamThao2019 : I don’t have any to cut back
