What Trading mean to u? Passion, Thrill, Desire or your Pitfall?
During the month of August, i have traded 243 times in the US market, BUY BUY SELL SELL over 18 stocks & ETFs. Each day, i traded between 6 to 20 trades on a 3 hours time period. Overall, this is not my most traded month, but it can be considered my Top 5.
I'm just a regular guy who has an "itch" for trading. Maybe you can call it my passion, my desire to beat the market, the thrill & excitement of seeing your P/L moving UP & DOWN.
I can smile, laugh, shout & cry over a trade. All sorts of emotions will run through me. A typical feeling of a "small" trader who is trying to earn some pocket money.
FOMO, revenge trade, and copy trade are some of my pitfalls, swearing never to trade again. However, these are the "expensive" lessons that i have paid to gain my trading experience.
Over time, you will develop your own DOs & DON'Ts. But good habits are difficult to maintain. The "itchy" hand will be faster than your logical thought. Or your emotions will overthrow those thoughts.
Just my little advice to "newbies",
Always start off with paper trading for practice. Learn new strategies and apply them in paper trade. Back test your strategies for confirmation of what is working and what is not. Never jump into live trade with little or no experience, as you are just like placing a casio bet, hoping to win OR LOSE IT ALL. Risk Management is keyed.
My preferred trading strategy,
Day/Scalping trade - trading in a smaller time frame with a high volatility movement and a smaller R/R ratio. Normally, it involves multiple long or short trades per day.
My future strategy will remain the same. But i will monitor/on the lookout for a BIG pull-back/flush down from TECH stocks & buy in for a swing trade.
