When the leader dominates, should other players follow suit?

The attached figure is from Bloomberg, which summarizes the revenue space and market share data of top players in global cloud computing IaaS in 2013 and 2021.

Regarding this set of data, the first interpretation is that the share of the leading player (AWS) has increased from 42% to 62%; the space for other players has become smaller.

The second interpretation: the market space for non-leading players (All Others) increased from US$3 billion to US$33.6 billion.

If you only look at the first interpretation, this market is very unfriendly to new players; if you look at the second interpretation, this market is so perfect that revenue has increased more than ten times in eight years.

In an industry with ample room for growth，you can survive if you get a piece of the pie.
