White House says Israel has the right to respond to rocket attacks

National Security Press Secretary John Kirby said Israel has the right to retaliate against attacks in the Golan Heights that Israel blamed on Lebanon's Hezbollah Group.

However, the US sees no need for retaliation to escalate.

Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the attack in Majdal Shams that killed 12 teenagers and children on Saturday.
