who is paper trading for ?

Many ppl like me want to find ways to make money in the stock mkt today more than ever. With that said, I just tapped the paper trading option and had 1,000,000 credits to practice with. I immediately thought that trading options were out of the reach of 99% of all investors, including myself. I'm trying to keep it real here so how's everyone who fits in the above demographic willing to continue using the paper trade feature or even considering doing options trading it if we are going to need large sums of money to make any gains. I'd like to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
